GCTPC
advocates for policy change regarding clean indoor air,
tobacco free businesses and public facilities, and
changing the social perception of tobacco use. Our
vision is to improve health in Greene County and reduce
disease and the economic burden imposed by tobacco use
on our citizens through education, policy, prevention
and cessation programs.
For
information on quitting tobacco use, contact
1-800-QUIT-NOW. Trained cessation counselors
provide free, confidential cessation counseling to those
who call.
GCTPC works
with Greene County schools, businesses, and the
public to increase awareness of the dangers of tobacco
and secondhand smoke, and to advocate for smokefree
workplaces and restaurants. We partner with
healthcare providers to provide the most up-to-date
information regarding health and tobacco use, including
how tobacco use affects children, the elderly, and the
unborn.
GCTPC
Coalition meets monthly, the second Wednesday of each
month, at 4 PM at the GCTPC office. New members
are always welcome.
